An Introduction.....

Hello everyone!

Hard to believe summer is just about over and school is in full swing for my boys. Summer was BUSY for us, as I'm sure it was for most of you as well. Besides a family vacation to Branson, Missouri (to celebrate my husband's Aunt & Uncle's 50th Anniversary), we celebrated a total of SIX birthdays in July, two of those being my youngest son who just turned 6, and myself who just turned, well, nevermind 😜 #imnottelling

Anyway, I've totally neglected my blog and I'm bound & determined to change that. After doing an "introduction" post on my Facebook page as well as Instagram there was some fun dialogue going on in the comments, so I wanted to do the same here!

For those of you who don't know me, I'm Wendy, wife of almost 12 years to Eric and mom to Blake, age 7 1/4 (he won't let you forget the 1/4 😜) and a chatty 2nd grader, and our more introverted 6 year old Nicholas who just started another year of Kindergarten (oh the joys of summer birthdays!).

A few things about me:

- I'm a born-again believer in Jesus Christ who died for my sins, and am forever grateful!

- Eric & I met on e-Harmony in 2006 back when online dating was still 'just for desperate people'. Whatever you call it, I'm so thankful that God led us to each other in that way.

- I’ve been a licensed RN since 1995, although my license has been inactive since Blake was born. I worked as a Complex Medical Case Manager in the Work Comp industry, with a clinical background in ICU. Blood & needles don't scare me! 😜

- I don't drink alcohol but I love a Starbucks mocha. A lot. #ineedhelp

- I don't like corn. #gag

Obviously I haven't been a photographer my whole life. Like many other photographers, my hobby morphed over time to a business that I truly love and enjoy.

As much as I love the 'taking pictures' part of photography, the part that really makes my heart sing is helping clients with their vision for their photographs to be displayed beautifully in their home. Or, if they have no idea what to do with their photos, I assist them with every step to make sure their photos don't just sit on a USB. That way, their beautiful photos can be enjoyed for years to come, and passed on to their children as the heirlooms they truly are.

When wall space is lacking, heirloom photo albums are a perfect choice.

It's fun to share photos on Facebook, or send out a Christmas card with an updated family photo on it. But what happens when your family photo with all of the Facebook "likes" falls to the bottom of your news feed?

What about when your Christmas card gets tossed out after the new year?

What if Facebook goes away tomorrow (I mean, I highly doubt that, but do you remember MySpace?)?

What about a corrupted digital image that you can no longer view or print?

We live in a got-to-have-it-now society and are busier than ever. Most people have the best intentions to order photos from their family sessions but never get around to it.

Having a full service photography business allows me to take time with my clients to truly understand their wants and needs, and help them select the best options to display their photographs beautifully in their home at the right size.

Digital images are great and certainly have their place, but they're no match for the timeless beauty of a printed art piece that your family can enjoy for years to come.

It's your family's legacy.

Are you in need of updated family pictures this year? Have a son or daughter who needs to get Senior pictures done before the school year gets too busy? Contact me today for a no-obligation consultation. I'd love to discuss your vision for beautiful family portraits in your home.

Have a great week everyone!
