Sydney ~ Urbandale High School Class of 2020
Meet Sydney, Urbandale High School Class of 2020!
I first met Sydney very briefly in 2018 after I photographed her sister's Senior pictures, so I was thrilled to be able to do her Senior pictures as well!
We had a wet, rainy fall in 2019. And Saturdays in particular were rainy. Or, if it was dry, it was crazy windy. I honestly lost count of how many times we had to reschedule Sydney's session due to rain and/or wind (3 I think??), but we finally had a dry Saturday in October to get her session squeezed in before the next forecasted rain.
Sydney had the cutest summer outfits picked out for her session, but when her October session finally rolled around it was CHILLY! So, what did she do? Well, like the rock star she is, she rocked her summer dress with spaghetti straps like nobody's business and you'd never know how cold she was (except, now you know because I told you 😜).
I made sure to work as quickly as possible so she could throw her coat on in between shots. These trees in the Arboretum of Water Works Park were the perfect backdrop.
For quick outfit changes, I always bring along my pop-up privacy tent. Most of my Senior Guys opt to change clothes in their car, but for the girls it's easier to have a little more elbow room and privacy. I'm super thankful to the moms for always being so willing to help me get that bad boy folded back up and into my carrying case!
For outfit #2 Sydney opted for this pretty pink sweater, comfy distressed jeans, and cute leather sandals, and we headed over to the new amphitheater located inside of Water Works Park. If you aren't familiar with WWP, the area is huge and offers a lot of variety for a portrait session. As you will see we were able to create several different looks all in one location. No need to drive all over town!
After another quick outfit change we headed deeper in to WWP and grabbed a few shots along the side of the road before heading to the popular bridge that crosses over the Raccoon River.
Many Des Moines area Seniors opt to be photographed on this iconic bridge crossing over the Raccoon River in Water Works Park.
To wrap up her session, Sydney opted for a gorgeous mustard/gold sweater and jeans which was perfect with the golden light of the setting sun.
With so many beautiful photos to choose from, Sydney's mom opted for an 8x8 album to store all of their favorites from her Senior session. These albums are fully customizable with either a leather, linen, or full photo wrap cover, or even a combo-cover with a photo as well as linen or leather, with many choices in color to perfectly compliment your home's decor. This will be a beautiful addition to display at her graduation open house this spring, and to look back on over the years. These albums will last for decades and serve to help preserve your family's legacy.
Do you have a son or daughter who will be a high school senior soon? It's not too early to start planning their Senior session! Summer is a great time to get Senior pictures done and crossed off of your (and their) to do list before school starts in the fall. Contact me to set up your no-obligation consultation to learn more.
