3 Reasons To Schedule A spring Senior Session

You might be wondering when in the world is the BEST time to book Senior pictures.  That is one of the most popular questions I hear!

While we have a lot of great options here in central Iowa, let’s focus on Spring sessions because it’s truly (in my opinion) THE BEST time to schedule!

Here are 3 reasons that you might want to book a spring senior session:

1.     The weather is ideal for Senior Pictures.

It's not too hot and it's not too cold.  It’s juuuust right.

Like Goldilocks.

Seriously, the weather is wonderful this time of year!  While it can get crazy hot as well as pretty chilly, the majority of the time is fantastic.  You won’t be sweating or freezing.  And, when you’re comfortable and not always thinking about when you can step in to the AC or grab your coat, you’ll be more relaxed in your photos and that will translate to images that show the real you (and not the stressed out you)!

 2.     All the pretty flowers are blooming!

This is especially true for the flowering trees, which usually bloom around the first week of May.  While not Seniors, these boys looks great with the bright and colorful trees behind him, and by keeping their clothing choices simple the focus is all about them.

The Arie den Boer Arboretum at Water Works Park in Des Moines has some beautiful trees that have been favorites for Des Moines high school Seniors.

The Rose Garden in Des Moines’ Greenwood Park is always beautiful in the springtime.

Wildflowers in grassy fields are always so pretty for senior pictures!

Spring blooms add a nice pop of color for senior guys too!

  1. Booking early means less stress (especially with yearbook deadlines) and you get to enjoy your images longer :)

Senior year is very busy, as well as the summer leading up to senior year.  By getting your senior pictures done in the spring, you won’t have to worry about trying to squeeze them in between summer sports practices and family vacations or finding a time for pictures that doesn’t interfere with school activities and college visits in the fall.

You’ll be able to breathe a sigh of relief knowing that you have a major piece checked off of your to-do list.

I can’t wait to work with you!
